The Hazmats

Back in the mid-1990’s, a drummer and a keyboard player were looking for a singer and guitarists just to get together and play rock-n-roll. With musical backgrounds ranging from classic rock to jazz to old school to glam to almost everything else, it wouldn’t have seemed likely to most outsiders that it would last too long. It turned out to be a great journey for all of us, and it’s resulted in wonderful friendships.

Not long after we formed, the keyboard player taught himself the bass guitar, and each of us has learned a lot along the way. As we’ve played together and grown musically, we’ve learned hundreds of songs, and have written several of our own.  The majority of our music is from the ’80’s and 90’s, not only because we grew up with it, but because it was, and continues to be, the best music written.

We started out in small bars, playing music by the J. Geils Band, Def Leppard, Billy Joel and more. Now our music spans everything from classic rock to more modern music … from Kenny Loggins to Guns ‘N’ Roses to Pearl Jam.
